Bare Ground Today, a Finished Lawn This Season
A bare yard causes trouble quickly. Rain turns clay into mud that gets tracked through the house, weeds move in within weeks, and soil washes toward the low corner of the lot. Seed can work, but it asks you to wait through a season of watering and patching while everyone stays off the grass, with no promise it will fill in evenly.
Sod gets you there in a day or two. The catch is that it only performs on ground that has been prepared for it. In Mississauga, that usually means dealing with clay compacted by excavators and delivery trucks, and a skim of topsoil that may not be doing much. Our job is to sort out those problems first, then lay Kentucky Bluegrass cut fresh at Ontario farms. You get an instant green yard and a root zone that can support it for years. If your yard already has a lawn on it, our lawn replacement service is the better fit.

WHAT YOU GET
What Every Installation Includes
A Walk of Your Yard
We measure the lawn area, check which way the ground falls and look at how a crew and materials will reach it. You get a written price from that visit.
Ground Clearing
Stones, roots, construction debris and weeds come off the surface. What gets left behind on a new-build lot shows up later as bumps and bare patches.
Surface Shaping
We loosen the top of the soil and rake it to an even finish, so each roll sits flat. If the slope itself needs correcting, grading and levelling can be added to your quote.
Kentucky Bluegrass, Cut Fresh
Rolls arrive cool and moist from Ontario farms, with delivery timed to your job. Pallets never sit cooking on your driveway.
Offset, Tight Rows
Joints are staggered like brickwork and edges are pushed snug, then the sod is rolled into the soil. Good contact is what lets roots take hold.
Clear Watering Instructions
The first few weeks decide how well sod roots. We give the lawn its first soak and leave you with a simple plan for what comes next.
The Sod We Lay
We lay Kentucky Bluegrass, the dense, dark-green grass most Ontario homeowners picture when they think of a good lawn. It spreads through underground stems, so it can knit small thin spots together and recover from wear. It also likes sun. Where a corner of the property stays in heavy shade, we will tell you at the site visit, because grass struggles there and it is better to plan for that now than to discover it in July.
Fresh matters as much as variety. Newly cut rolls are cool, heavy and damp. Rolls left stacked too long heat up from the inside, and that damage appears later as yellow strips across the lawn.

Yards That Usually Need New Sod
A Brand-New Home
Builders often finish a lot with subsoil, stones and a thin skim of topsoil. Your new lawn needs better than that, and this is where most new-home yards start.
After an Addition or Pool
Excavators and bins flatten soil hard. Once the work is done, the yard needs loosening and levelling before sod will root properly.
Seed That Never Took
Patchy germination, weeds and washed-out corners are common on clay. Sod replaces a slow gamble with a finished surface.
A Home Going on the Market
Bare ground is one of the first things buyers notice. New sod makes a property look cared for straight away, without a season of waiting.
Room for Kids and Dogs
Mud gets tracked indoors and bare play areas never recover by themselves. Once sod has rooted, it takes everyday use far better than thin grass.
Old Beds or Gravel Coming Out
Turning a tired garden bed or gravel strip into lawn takes more than topping it up. We strip it back and build a proper surface first.
Signs Your Yard Is Ready for Sod
- The builder left bare or rough ground
- Grass seed has failed more than once
- Construction has torn up most of the yard
- You want a finished lawn this season
- Old beds or gravel are coming out
- Mud is following everyone into the house

Sod Installation Questions
How long will the job take?
Typical home lawns wrap up in a day or two. Larger yards, tight access or extra grading can add time, and we will give you a realistic schedule at the site visit.
Do you level the ground first?
Yes. Surface preparation and basic levelling are part of every installation. If the yard needs real slope correction or fill, we quote that separately so you can see exactly what it adds.
How much topsoil goes under new sod?
It depends on what is already there. Some yards have enough usable soil and only need loosening, while others have little over the clay. We check at the site visit, and any added soil appears on your quote.
What kind of sod do you lay?
Kentucky Bluegrass, cut fresh at Ontario farms. It has a dense, dark look and recovers well from wear, but it wants plenty of sun, so we flag heavily shaded areas before you commit.
Can you sod a new build after final grading?
Usually, yes, and we can often work to your builder's schedule. Before changing any levels on a new lot, we check that the work will not interfere with the approved grading, because that can matter when the builder's warranty or the municipality's sign-off is still open.
