Lorne Park Lawns and Yards
Lorne Park has one of the most distinctive housing mixes in Mississauga. About 85% of its homes are single-detached, and nearly all are owner-occupied. Much of the area dates from the 1960s and 1970s, and some of it goes back much further: Lorne Park Estates began as an 1880s lakeside resort, and its narrow, tree-lined lanes and large lots survive today.
Those trees are the area's great asset and the main challenge for a lawn. Mature maples and oaks shade the ground and drink up its moisture, and their roots run close to the surface. Kentucky Bluegrass wants plenty of direct sun, so grass under a heavy canopy will thin no matter how it is treated. We will tell you where sod will thrive, and where a bed may be the better answer.
Those same trees come with rules. Mississauga's Private Tree Protection By-law requires a permit to injure or remove a private tree 15 cm or more in diameter, and digging near roots can count. We work carefully around root zones, and we check what applies before grading near a large tree.
The soil can change here too. Toward the lake, the old Lake Iroquois shoreline left sandier ground in places, which drains faster than the clay further north but dries out sooner. We check your yard, not a map.
Many lawns here are also bigger than average, so a small soil problem can turn into a big bill if nobody notices it. On a long front lawn, we look at how the ground falls from the house to the street, where water collects and how far grass has retreated from the trees. Then we can tell you which parts deserve sod and which are better left alone.

Lorne Park
Established detached homes on generous lots, often with long front lawns and deep shade. Projects here tend to involve careful fitting around trees, stone walkways and mature gardens.
Clarkson
The southwest corner of the city, where large lots near the lake give way to more modest housing further north. A real mix of yard types means the plan depends on your street.
Sheridan
Over half the homes here are detached, and most date from the 1960s and 1970s. Lawns are old enough for a full replacement to make sense, particularly where the soil has settled or compacted.

Evan and team were exceptional in their job. The whole process was made so simple and easy. It is really a pleasure to work with you guys. I recommend them highly.
Evan and his team are punctual, professional, friendly and they are experts! Before n after pictures, for you to see. I haven't had lawn in over 20 years, too many trees no sun, and now it's beautiful, thank to Rightonsod.
Evan and the crew were awesome, completed a large side yard in a day. Had to work around an odd shapes flower bed, river stone path and the sod came out amazing. Side of the house looks like a golf course! Well done guys! Thank you.

LORNE PARK QUESTIONS
Lorne Park Sod Questions
Will sod grow under mature trees?
It depends on the shade. Kentucky Bluegrass needs plenty of direct sun, and it thins in heavy shade, where tree roots also compete for water. Light, dappled shade can work. Under a dense canopy, we would rather suggest mulch or a shade garden than sell you sod that will struggle.
Do you cover Clarkson and Sheridan?
Yes. Lorne Park, Clarkson and Sheridan are all within our regular range, and we plan each one on its own terms, because yards differ a lot from street to street.
Can you work around established gardens?
Yes. We mark out what stays before we start, cut the new lawn neatly to the edge of each bed, and keep soil and equipment off plantings. If access is tight, more of the work is done by hand, and your quote will reflect that.
Is a large lot priced differently?
We use the same published rates, measured by the square foot, and bigger lawns tend to sit toward the lower end. Hand work around roots, stone and gardens can add to the price, so your written quote shows what applies to your property.
